I have been a Licensed Dental Hygienist for over 27 years. My passion is providing exceptional care for my patients. As I considered furthering my education in the Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy field, an excitement grew in me. For many years I knew there had to be more; more to treating conditions that I see on a daily basis and not just telling patients, “there’s nothing we can do.” There are underlying reasons for every condition. The key is the “background” check. Myofunctional Therapy addresses habits and dysfunctions that can date back to infancy. My goal is to help you figure out the right care for you, as an individual. Everyone is unique and each person will require a personalized plan of treatment. With a multi-disciplinary approach, Myofunctional Therapy can provide the missing link, making your current or future treatment successful.
Although I often joke about it, the statement seems to be true. We are simple minded but our bodies are so complex. No one form of treatment fixes the whole body. There is usually a combination of things going on and the root causes need to be addressed. Don’t forget to ask the question, Why?” Why do I snore? Why do I grind my teeth? Why can I not breathe through my nose? Why do I need braces for the third time? Why does my son still have problems with certain words after 1 year of speech therapy? Getting to the root cause can help find solutions for all of these questions. Several disciplines may be involved in addressing your needs fully and properly. I work with other doctors and providers to get you the care you need.
I can’t wait to help you find relief for your situation. It is my goal to provide the best care possible and help get you on the road to great health and function. Your quality of life is important, regardless of your age. Please don’t hesitate to call or email your questions today. Myofunctional Therapy….it just may be the missing piece!
